Discover how therapeutic percussion can enhance your clinical practice and provide another valuable tool for addressing soft tissue restrictions, muscular tension, and client discomfort.

This introductory course is designed for licensed healthcare professionals interested in incorporating mechanical percussion and vibration techniques into their existing treatment approaches. Participants will gain foundational knowledge and practical experience using percussion devices, including massage guns and the Foredom Massager, to support soft tissue mobility, relaxation, and overall musculoskeletal function.

Explore the science, history, and practical applications of therapeutic percussion in this comprehensive, hands-on introductory workshop.

Therapeutic percussion utilizes rhythmic mechanical stimulation to influence soft tissue, encourage muscular relaxation, and potentially improve mobility and comfort. Participants will examine the relationship between fascia, muscular tension, and movement restrictions while learning how percussion techniques may complement established manual therapy approaches.

The course introduces the pioneering work of Dr. Robert Fulford, DO, whose osteopathic philosophy emphasized the relationship between mechanical vibration, tissue mobility, and whole-body function.

Special attention will be given to recognizing tissue responses, selecting appropriate treatment areas, modifying techniques for individual clients, and understanding the precautions and contraindications associated with percussion devices.

Instruction combines engaging PowerPoint presentations, demonstrations, guided discussion, and supervised hands-on practice. Participants will have opportunities to work with a variety of percussion devices and develop practical techniques they can incorporate into their professional scope of practice.
