Description
Trauma can profoundly impact both the body and mind. Research reveals a strong connection between trauma and chronic health conditions, manifesting in a wide range of physical disorders and symptoms. These may include somatic complaints, sleep disturbances, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, neurological, musculoskeletal, respiratory, dermatological, urological issues, and substance use disorders.
Integrating body-focused approaches to help clients process trauma can significantly enhance the effectiveness of a massage session.
In this course, students will gain an understanding of Emotional Release techniques and learn how to compassionately support clients on their trauma recovery journey, helping them move beyond their story and alleviate chronic pain. We will explore effective massage and bodywork modalities, therapist grounding practices, and the importance of maintaining appropriate boundaries within the client-therapist relationship.
