Description
This in-depth course equips massage therapists with the knowledge and practical skills to effectively address adhesive capsulitis, commonly known as frozen shoulder. Participants will explore the three progressive stages of this condition—freezing, frozen, and thawing—and learn how to adapt their approach to each phase with confidence and care.
Through lecture, demonstration, and hands-on practice, therapists will learn to:
-
Identify common signs and symptoms of frozen shoulder
-
Perform targeted assessments, including range of motion and orthopedic tests
-
Understand the underlying anatomy, biomechanics, and compensatory patterns
-
Apply soft tissue techniques, passive movement, and myofascial release to improve mobility and reduce discomfort
-
Develop individualized treatment plans that support healing and restore function
This course emphasizes a gentle, patient-centered approach that prioritizes safety, informed touch, and ongoing collaboration with healthcare providers when appropriate.
