Description
Every nervous system speaks its own language. Neurodivergent clients—including individuals with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, Tourette syndrome, dyslexia, and other neurological variations—often experience the world in heightened or unique ways. Traditional massage approaches may overlook their sensory needs, communication styles, or nervous system regulation. This can unintentionally create barriers to therapeutic trust, safety, and effective outcomes.
Massage for Neurodivergent Clients is a specialized continuing education course designed to empower massage therapists with the knowledge, sensitivity, and adaptive skills needed to serve neurodiverse populations with confidence and respect. Through a balance of lecture, discussion, and hands-on practice, therapists will gain a deeper understanding of neurodiversity, sensory integration, trauma-aware communication, and nervous system regulation strategies.
This course emphasizes a client-centered, collaborative approach that honors autonomy, informed consent, and emotional safety. Therapists will learn how to adapt techniques, modify session environments, and build individualized treatment plans that support each client’s sensory and neurological needs.
What You’ll Learn
• The foundations of neurodiversity and how it relates to bodywork
