Description
Russian Sports Massage focuses on somewhat vigorous techniques that will relieve muscle aches, various pains, and stiffness common to athletes.
Unlike typical Sports Massage, the strokes are generally slower and have gentler motions. The use of friction stimulates a heating effect in the body and, when combined with outer vibration techniques, it’s useful for easing sore muscles and joints.
The class will present both pre and post-event techniques including multiple types of effleurage, friction, vibration, range of motion and muscle energy. Also being covered will be the effects of massage on the skin, muscle, connective tissue, tendon, ligament, joints and nervous systems.
This is a hands-on class pleases wear comfortable, loose clothing and shorts as we will be both assessing and correcting distortions or dysfunctions.
