About the Course

Explore the intricate relationships between connective tissue, movement, posture, and the body’s ability to function with greater ease.

This advanced, hands-on workshop focuses on the fascial connections of the upper body, beginning with the trunk, rib cage, and spine before progressing outward through the shoulders, arms, cervical spine, and skull.

Discover how the soft tissues of the torso influence spinal mobility, rib cage movement, and the mechanics of breathing. Through a deeper understanding of these relationships, you’ll learn techniques designed to improve tissue mobility, reduce restrictions, and support more efficient movement.

We’ll also examine the relationship between the nervous system, fascial tension, and postural patterns, exploring how connective tissue techniques can be incorporated into treatment strategies for common upper-body conditions, including rotator cuff dysfunction, frozen shoulder, thoracic outlet syndrome, and tendinopathies affecting the arms and joints.

With an emphasis on anatomical understanding, postural assessment, and practical application, this course will help you develop a more comprehensive approach to upper-body bodywork.

What You’ll Learn

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Deepen their understanding of the anatomy and connective tissue relationships of the torso, thorax, shoulder girdle, cervical spine, and skull.
  • Identify fascial restrictions and postural imbalances affecting upper-body movement and function.
  • Develop observational and postural assessment skills to guide treatment planning.
  • Recognize common structural dysfunctions and injuries affecting the upper body.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate connective tissue techniques for specific patterns of restriction and dysfunction.
  • Demonstrate hands-on connective tissue techniques for the trunk, rib cage, spine, shoulders, arms, neck, and skull.
  • Integrate these techniques into existing massage and bodywork sessions to support mobility, comfort, and functional movement.
