Description
This 12-CE live course combines foundational Gua Sha education with full-body clinical application for massage and bodywork professionals. Participants begin with the history and cultural origins of Gua Sha, contemporary massage/bodywork applications, physiological responses relevant to soft tissue and circulation, tool selection, hygiene and sanitation, informed consent, indications, contraindications, precautions, and scope-of-practice considerations. The course then progresses into region-specific anatomy and hands-on Gua Sha application for the upper and lower body, including the upper chest, shoulders, neck, arms, back, gluteal region, hips, legs, and feet.
Traditional acupressure points and Qi-flow concepts are presented as part of the traditional framework associated with Gua Sha and are integrated with anatomical landmarks, client assessment, pressure and angle selection, treatment sequencing, and clinical reasoning. Through instructor demonstration, supervised partner practice, case-based discussion, and a final integrated treatment sequence, participants develop the ability to plan and perform a safe, client-centered full-body Gua Sha session within their professional scope of practice.
