Sometimes, letting go can be the most challenging test of our lives.
Experiencing a traumatic event can have a dramatic effect on our minds. and our bodies. Studies have shown that there is a significant connection between trauma and the physical body that can sometimes lead to chronic health conditions. Common physical disorders and symptoms can include somatic complaints, sleep disturbances, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, neurological, musculoskeletal, respiratory, and dermatological disorders, urological problems, and substance use disorders.
Addressing the physical body to assist clients in processing trauma can have a deeply profound effect on the success of a massage session.
Students of this workshop will gain a deeper understanding of trauma and how it can manifest as an emotional release during a client bodywork session, and how they may assist clients compassionately and effectively through their trauma journey to move past their story and any chronic pain issues.
